FBO (Fixed Base Operator)
An FBO is the private terminal at an airport where business jets park and passengers board — the pickup point for private aviation ground transportation.
Fixed Base Operators such as Signature Aviation and Atlantic Aviation operate the ramps, lounges, and fueling services used by private and charter aircraft. Passengers never enter the commercial terminal; they arrive at a separate gated entrance.
Ground transportation at an FBO is coordinated with line service and the flight crew rather than with a public arrivals board. With ramp access, the vehicle can be positioned at the aircraft steps so passengers step from the cabin into the car.
Because tail numbers move and departures slide, FBO transfers are dispatched against the aircraft's live position, not a scheduled time.
