Definition
Limousine service
Limousine service is chauffeured hire of a luxury vehicle — sedan, SUV, or executive van — under a charter-party license, sold by the trip or by the hour.
In everyday use "limo service" no longer implies a stretch vehicle. Regulators and the industry treat limousine service as any pre-arranged chauffeured transportation sold by a licensed charter-party carrier, which covers luxury sedans, SUVs, and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans alongside traditional stretches.
What defines the category is the arrangement, not the body style: reservations only, no street hails, a named chauffeur, and a rate agreed before the trip. That is why wedding transportation, wine tours, roadshows, and airport transfers all fall under the same license.
Hourly limousine work carries a minimum — five hours on our published rates — because the vehicle and chauffeur are committed to you for the block, including staging and repositioning time.
